Bamenda Mayor Presents PWD Cup of Cameroon Turning Point Trophy to P-I-C
The Public Independent Conciliator, Mr. Tamfu Simon Fai has donated a financial support of half a million CFAF PWD Social Club, Bamenda. The cash donation on behalf of the Office of the P-I-C was made in appreciation of PWD’s exploit in winning the 37th edition of Cameroon’s national football cup.
The P-I-C used the ceremony to recall on Tuesday 5th April in the meeting Room of P-I-C to recall the mission of the institution he heads. He underscored that Bamenda City Council is a major stakeholder in the business that the P-I-C executes for general welfare, especially peace.
For his part, Bamenda City Mayor, Mr. Achobong Tambeng Paul who led a powerful delegation of five, expressed gratitude and happiness in the refreshing gesture, saying he was glad to discover in P-I-C a partner in the promotion of general welfare. Mayor Achobong dubbed the cup Bamenda Turning Point Trophy, citing himself as first non-indigene of Mezam to head Bamenda City Council and the missions and powers of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator as indicators of the turning point.
Overwhelm by the P-I-C gesture, PWD’s First Vice President, Mr. Joseph Njoya pledged judicious use of the gift. He expressed hope that the P-I-C action would generate multiple general and wide public support to the darling Abakwa Boys who are always in need.
Also accompanying Mayor Achobong to P-I-C werePWD’s Second Vice President, Dr. Charles Boyo, as well as the Inspector General at Bamenda City Council, Madame Bih Marie Nche and the Personal Assistant of the City Mayor, Mr. Mekom Samuel Taleh.
