British High Commissioner Pays Second Working Visit to the North-West Public Independent Conciliator
The British High Commissioner to Cameroon, H.E. Matt Woods, paid a second working visit to the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) of the North-West Region on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. This visit follows his initial engagement with the institution on 18 March 2025 and comes shortly after a capacity-building workshop organized by the British High Commission in Yaoundé, in which staff of the PIC North-West Region participated. The High Commissioner was accompanied by two senior officials of the high commission.
Purpose of the Visit
During the visit, H.E. Matt Woods commended the Office for its continued efforts in promoting good governance, accountability, and the protection of citizens’ rights in the region. He made particular reference to the 2025 Annual Report of the institution, noting the relevance and impact of its work despite the challenging context.
He described the work of the PIC North-West Region as bold and commendable, encouraging the institution to sustain its efforts in holding key stakeholders accountable and strengthening public trust.
