OPIC Women Are Champions of 2025 Women’s Day Handball Competition
Female staff of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator of the North-West Region clinched gold in the handball competition leading up to the 2025 Women’s Day.
The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator took part in the handball competition for the first time as an institution, emerging champions.
In the first semi-final game on 04 March, OPIC Women beat CAMWATER Women by 24 goals to 04.
The 2nd Semi-Final match pitted Police Women against women of the Determined Eagles Handball Club (DEHC). The match ended in favor of DEHC.
The finals of the Handball Competition was thus played between OPIC Women and women of the Determined Eagles Handball Club. The OPIC Women triumphed over DEHC by a score of 23 goals to 20.
The Public Independent Conciliator, Mr. Tamfu Simon Fai accompanied the women on a sports walk in the early hours of Tuesday, March 4.
He applauded the efforts of women in nation-building.
“In the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator, we promote rights, equality, and empowerment. The theme of the 40th edition of Women’s Day falls in line with our mission. We can modify the theme, to include the men by saying: ‘all men on behalf of women and girls, boys and men for equality’,” the Public Independent Conciliator said.
The female staff of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator of the North-West Region were supported by their male colleagues.
