P-I-C REACHES OUT TO BAMENDA 1 COUNCIL
The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North-West Region has been sensitizing the citizenry of Bamenda 1 municipality.
Using the 2022 International Labour Day as an opportunity, the P-I-C staff undertook an information sensitisation campaign at Bamenda 1 Council on Friday 13/05/2022.
Over 60 participants who included municipal and traditional councillors, local council authorities and staff, as well as some civil society actors were treated to three presentations followed by a rousing interaction of questions and answers.
In the absence of Mayor Felix Mbigha, First Deputy Mayor Ngwafu Anna Tanjong in her welcome and closing statement appreciated the mutually beneficial initiative.
For his part, Research Officer Nelson Ndi who represented the Public Independent Conciliator Tamfu Simon Fai lauded the availability and openness of Bamenda 1 Council, host of the P-I-C and poised to set the pace for good governance at grassroots level within the context of decentralisation for sustainable peace and development.
The presentations on the Mission and Mandate of the P-I-C, Rights and Obligations of Citizens and Councils and Complaint Procedure were done respectively by Ephraim Banda Ghogomu, Dr. Alfred Wuku Kudi and Nina Ambuban.
Happy with the turnout and success of the outreach event at Bamenda 1 Council masterly moderated by Tilarious Atia, the P-I-C staff in their white pollo tee-shirts returned to base for a sumptuous Labour Day Lunch.
