PIC North-West Team Pays Courtesy Visit to Taku Community
A delegation from the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) of the North-West Region paid a courtesy visit to members of the Taku Association for Development (TAD) on 15 March 2026 at Up-Station, Bamenda.
The delegation comprised Dr. Alfred Wuku, Research Officer No. 4, and Barrister Dimla Hanson, Complaint Management Officer No. 2. They were warmly received by members of the association during a meeting aimed at strengthening engagement between the institution and the Taku community.

During the visit, the delegation sensitized participants on the creation, mandate, and role of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator in the North-West Region. The team also provided detailed explanations on the complaint management procedure and highlighted how accessible the institution is to the population it serves.
Members of the Taku community expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the information shared. They noted with pride that one of their own, Mr. Simon Tamfu Fai, serves as the Public Independent Conciliator of the North-West Region. Beyond this symbolic connection, participants were also reassured that the institution is staffed with competent personnel capable of receiving, interpreting, and handling complaints or requests from all communities, including Taku.
In his remarks, the Public Independent Conciliator, Mr. Simon Tamfu Fai, introduced the delegation to the community. This was followed by presentations from the visiting officials, who provided further clarification on the services offered by the Office.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with participants expressing a better understanding of the mission and services of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator. Members of the community also expressed hopes for continued engagement and development initiatives for Taku, including their aspiration to one day have a council that will enable them to better manage their local development.
