PIC Organizes Information and Education Seminar for Regional Delegates
On Thursday 07 December 2023, the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator North West Region organized an information seminar for Regional Delegates to identify common grounds to better serve the public. It was an occasion for the Office to present ideas on how to partner with Regional Delegates in the protection and promotion of Human Rights and Freedoms of users and beneficiary communities, prevent disputes, enforcement of Inclusiveness and respect of diversity in council administration which constitutes the mission of the Public Independent Conciliator.
Considering the Regional Delegates of the North West Region as elites of their council areas, they would promote fairness and good governance in councils through their interaction with the population and influence on the local authorities.
Presentations made by the experts in the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator North West Region included;
– Mr Ndi Nelson Ngayinkfu, Research Officer no 1, on the Substantive and functional mandates of the PIC
-Barrister Yang Francis Fombi, Research Officer no. 2, on The Complaint Management Mechanism and the Conciliatory Process and
-Madame Nina Ambuban Agingi, Executive Officer no. 2, on the Creation, Missions and Functioning of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator
The Regional Delegates listened attentively and asked relevant questions on where and how they could contribute positively to the realization of the mission of the office of the Public Independent Conciliator.
An interactive session that followed the presentations offered the participants constructive cooperation and collaboration between the Regional Delegates and the office of the Public Independent Conciliator.This was an opportunity to understand how their important roles , their influence in their political bases might significantly contribute to install a culture of good governance at grassroots levels.
