Presenting the award to the Public Independent Conciliator, TAMFU Simon FAI, the Mayor of Nkambe, Musa Shey Nfor, said it is only right to show gratitude to those who gave him a push to accomplish this success story.
“Many actors have contributed to this success story. We had to come back to thank them. We had to present this award to the Governor of the North-West Region, the President of the North-West Regional Assembly and the Public Independent Conciliator of the North-West Region,” he said.
Mayor Musa Shey Nfor added that: “The work of the Public Independent Conciliator has been to promote citizens’ ownership of their own affairs; it is about the participation of the population and having a clean town. The Public Independent Conciliator has been urging councils to work with the population. We, in Nkambe, have heeded to the PIC’s call and are reaping the fruits of working with our population.”
According to the Mayor, the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator North-West Region played a great part in helping the council achieve this award.
“We have come to thank the Public Independent Conciliator for driving us to win prizes for cleanliness but also prizes in the execution of the public investment budget, social cohesion, inclusiveness, and clinching FEICOM’s best practices award,” the Mayor went on. “Coming here was also an opportunity for us to hear directly from the Public Independent Conciliator the updated report on the Nkambe Council and we discovered areas where we need to go polish so that we remain overall best”.
The Public Independent Conciliator praised the Nkambe Council for its exceptional strides in council management and for bringing glory to the Region.
