PIC INTENSIFIES EDUCATION AND SENSITASATION

The populations of Bali and Santa Councils in Mezam Division have been schooled on the mission and role of the Public Independent Conciliator (PIC). The education came within the context of an ongoing intensification of sensitisation by the PIC.
After Bamenda I, Njikwa and Batibo, the PIC sent two teams on Thursday 29/09/2022 to Santa and Bali, on the occasion of the mid-term sessions of the councils. The two teams separately but simultaneously extended the greetings and appreciation of the pioneer Public Independent Conciliator for the North-West Region, Mr. Tamfu Simon Fai, who was absent because of some urgent duty call.

In their presentations, team members highlighted the triple roles of the PIC as pacifier, watchdog and advocate in defending and promoting rights of the populations as users and beneficiaries of the services of councils.
The teams also explained who might complain about what and how, underscoring that unlike courts, the PIC examines disputes amicably with the consent of parties in dispute.

Mayor Wandum Bunga Ernest of Bali and his colleague of Santa, Fon Samkie Elvis Gahnyam appreciated the PIC initiative and exhorted their separate audiences to be bearers of the message they had received.
The two PIC Teams comprised Research Officer Ndi Nelson Ngayinkfu, Francis Yang, Dr. Alfred Wuku and Nina Agingi for Santa; then Ephraim Banda Ghogomu, Tilarious Atia, Claudia Waindim and Rais Ngodji for Bali.
