Women’s Day 2025: OPIC female staff embark on sensitization at Bamenda Regional Hospital

In line with activities to celebrate Women’s Day 2025 in Bamenda, the female staff of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) carried out a sensitization outreach program, paid a visit to the Maternity and Neonatal Wards, to talk about the role of women in Civil Registration on March 4.
At the Maternity and Neonatal wards, the women were educated on:
– the mission of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator,
– the role of women in the New Law on the establishment of Civil Status Documents ( Law No. 2024/016 of December 2024 to Organize The Civil Status Registration in Cameroon)
– Women’s rights in Local Development.

Women at the Office of the Public Independent are fully engaged in activities leading up to this year’s 40th edition of the Women’s Day celebration in Cameroon and most especially in Bamenda, joining their counterparts across the nation to prepare themselves for the march-past on the 8th March 2025.
The theme for this year’s Women’s Day “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment” falls in line with the vision of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator.
The PIC is “Mandated to work with all stakeholders to reach sustainable solutions that reflect the rights and obligations of everyone in the context of its mission.”
